Ventilation components for the toilet and a toilet ventilation system is provided according to the invention. The components comprise: A novel pad gasket to be placed in between the toilet tank and the lid to provide a good seal. Air outlet adapters that allow for mounting in the pad and/or various locations about the tank will provide the path for evacuation. An air/odor filtration/supression unit will process the evacuated air. The fan unit will be responsible for drawing the air from the bowl. Various fan adapters to modify traditional bathroom fans to allow them to be used as evacuation units as an economic alternative will be provided. An air flow intensity controller with exhaust tubing/piping will be provided for variable air flow adjustments.
