This invention relates to novel liquid, homogeneous toluene diisocyanate/polyether/polymethylene poly(phenylisocyanate) prepolymers having an NCO content of from about 2 to 16%, a viscosity or about 10,000 mPa.s or less at room temperature, and which contains about 1.0% or less of free monomeric TDI. This invention also relates to a process for the preparation of these liquid, homogeneous toluene diisocyanate/polyether/-polymethylene poly(phenylisocyanate) prepolymers. These prepolymers are suitable for preparing polyurethanes, by reacting the prepolymer with an isocyanate-reactive component.

Cette invention concerne de nouveaux prépolymères liquides homogènes de toluène diisocyanate/polyéther/polyméthylène poly(phénylisocyanate ) ayant une teneur en NCO entre environ 2 et 16 %, une viscosité d'environ 10 000 mPa.s ou moins à température ambiante et qui contient environ 1,0 % ou moins de monomères TDI. Cette invention concerne également un procédé de préparation de ces prépolymères liquides homogènes de toluène diisocyanate/polyéther/polyméthylène poly(phénylisocyanate). Ces prépolymères conviennent à la préparation de polyuréthannes, en faisant réagir le prépolymère avec un composant réactif à l'isocyanate.
