Description

The invention relates to floorboards, floor panels, floor covering or flooring systems. It also refers to the profile of floorboard tongue-and-groove for the ease of disassembling each individual floorboard without sacrificing the accuracy and tightness of re- assembly. More precisely, it refers to a new tongue-and-groove asymmetrical profile to obtain high accuracy and tightness of assembly using existing machinery tolerance, while allowing ease of disassembling of floorboards prior to installation, the said floorboards being initially fully assembled during the varnishing or packaging process. The groove member profile presents a gradual opening on its upper area. The tongue member profile presents a gradual thickening on its lower area. The said asymmetrical profile allows both members to be separated easily when applying an unidirectional torsion force while retaining sufficient friction force to tightly hold the said floorboards together when assembled and laid on a flat surface.
