ABSTRACT The invention relates to a device for tearing off pieces of a cer- tain definite length from a flexible strip, e.g. a strip of tickets. In ac- cordance with the invention the strip is provided with a number of punched or perforated lines intended to constitute flaps or tongues arranged at a cer- tain definite spacing along the length of the strip. The portion of the tongues, which are connected to the rest of the strip preferably extend at right-angles to the longitudinal direction of the strip, the free ends of the tongues having a lesser width than that of the ends of the tongues which are attached to the strip. The tongues are formed such that they are directed forward in the discharge position of the strip. The invention further in- cludes a device intended for the guidance of the strip, which device comprising a guidance and separation unit including a lip or flange which has a width greater than the least width of a tongue, and which as the strip is fed for- wards, guides the strip along a certain path and then when the width of the tongue is equal to, or greater than the least width of the flange, causes the tongue to be guided along the path and the rest of the strip along another path, along which latter path, the strip is caused to interact with a tear- off unit.
