The invention relates to a tool (1) for crimping a cable end-contact (34) for simultaneously receiving the bare and insulated parts thereof. The inventive crimping tool comprises first and second stages for crimping said contact onto the cable conductive core and the insulating sheath thereof, respectively and means (2, 4) for substentially simultaneously actuating said first and second stages. At least one rotatable element (30) is disposed between at least one crimping element and the cam (12, 22) of at least one stage, wherein said rotatable element can take at least two positions with respect to the crimping element. A method for crimping a contact simultaneously on the insulating sheath and the conductive core thereof is also disclosed.

L'invention a pour objet un outil de sertissage (1) d'un contact (34) sur l'extrémité d'un câble, ledit contact étant apte à recevoir à la fois une partie dénudée et une partie isolée de l'extrémité du câble. Cet outil de sertissage comporte un premier et un second étages pour sertir respectivement ledit contact sur l'âme conductrice et sur la gaine isolante du câble, ainsi que des moyens (2, 4) pour actionner lesdits premier et second étages de façon sensiblement simultanée. Au moins un élément rotatif (30) est disposé entre au moins un élément de sertissage et une came (12, 22) d'au moins un desdits étages, cet élément rotatif pouvant prendre au moins deux positions par rapport à l'élément de sertissage. L'invention concerne aussi un procédé de sertissage d'un contact à la fois sur une gaine isolante du câble et sur son âme conductrice.
