TOOL FOR DISENGAGING LAMPHOLDER SHELL FROM CAP ABSTRACT A tool for releasing the shell and the cap of an incandescent lamp for an engagement so as to allow access to electrical wiring. The tool has first and second members each having a gripping portion for the hand of a user and a working portion forming a gripping cavity. Protrusions extending inwardly from the elements comprising the working portions are adapted to apply pressure to areas of the shell wall that can be deformed inwardly so as to release the shell tabs from engagement with the cap tabs so as to allow the cap and shell to be pulled apart.
