Abstract of the Disclosure A tool is provided for use in applying support stockings and other types of socks to an individual's feet and legs. The tool includes a tongue positioned between side rails which are connected to handles that can be manipulated to cause lateral movement of the side rails and stretching of the stocking. The tongue is moveable laterally when the side rails are pivoted inwardly to facilitate application of the stocking to the tool. The tongue includes an extension which is engaged by the handles to cause centering of the tongue between the side rails when they are pivoted laterally outward. 10677685
