ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tool for threading and unthreading a slotted nut that is received in a deformable locking cup for retaining the nut on a nut plate. The tool has an inner shaft with a working end for engagement within the slot on the nut, so that the nut can be threaded and unthreaded, an outer sleeve axially movable on the inner shaft, and a locking tooth pivoted on the inner shaft and moving into deforming engagement with the cup on axial movement of the outer sleeve relative to the inner shaft.
