The invention concerns an adjustable tool for use in machine tools, with a slide (14) which can be fitted with at least one cutting tool and which can be dis- placed relative to the rotating main body (10) perpen- dicularly to the axis of rotation. The invention also calls for a device (20) for the direct measurement of the displacement of the slide (14), the slide being fitted with an electronically read measurement scale (24). This device comprises battery-powered data- processing electronics (20) and is located inside the main body (10). The displacement reading can be presented on a digital display (26) which is also mounted in the tool head.
