Improvements in the field of tool holders are disclosed which address several shortcomings of the currently available products for use in attachment to a surface such as a truck bucket. For example, the addition of spacing legs of sufficient length to the rear surface of a tool holder allows for the angling of the open end of the tool holder towards the operator. A tool holder with pockets attached to it allows for the storage and retrieval of other items in addition to the main tool held by the tool holder. Finally, a tool holder with attachment rings disposed thereon allows for the attachment of a safety line or other item via a clip directly to the tool holder rather than elsewhere.
