ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a method for evacuating sand and other solids from vertical wellbores, it is known to comprise a tool attached to a wireline which is lowered into a wellbore through the string of production tubing without the removal of the wellhead. In combination with removing the stuffing box, polished rod, rods and bottom hole pump, this method comprises lowering a tool on a wireline through the string of production tubing; jetting evacuation fluid through the production tubing and consequently through the tool causing sand and other solids to be carried upward through the annulus created between the production tubing and the production casing.
