Tool steel composition comprising, expressed by weight, 2.5-5.8 % Cr, up to 1.3 % V, up to 0.8 % Si, when the Mo content ranges from 0.75 to 1.75 % and up to 0.35 % Si when the Mo proportion ranges from 2.5 to 3.5 %, 0.3-0.4 % by weight of C. The invention also concerns the preparation and forming of such steels and parts obtained.
