A bending tool system is provided for forming a three-dimensional structure from a two-dimensional sheet material which includes a predetermined fold line. The system includes a tool base for receiving and supporting the sheet material in a work plane, a clamp for engaging against the sheet material to secure a portion of the sheet material relative to the tool base, a locator for positioning the sheet material relative to the tool base such that the clamp extends through the clamping aperture, and a bending arm located adjacent the clamp, the bending arm movable from an initial position located below the work plane to an upper position in order to apply an upward force against an unsecured portion of the sheet metal to effect bending of the sheet material about the fold line. A method of using the tool system for bending sheet materials is also described.
La présente invention concerne un ensemble d'outils conçu pour former une structure tridimensionnelle à partir d'un matériau en feuille en deux dimensions comprenant une lignes de pliage prédéterminée. Le système comprend une base outil conçue pour recevoir et maintenir le matériau en feuille sur un plan de travail, une pince conçue pour entrer en contact avec le matériau en feuille de manière à pincer une partie dudit matériau par rapport à la base d'outil, un dispositif de positionnement conçu pour positionner le matériau en feuille par rapport à la base d'outil de telle sorte que la pince s'étende à travers l'ouverture de préhension, et un bras de cintrage situé à côté de la pince. Le bras de cintrage est mobile depuis une position de départ située sous le plan de travail vers une position supérieure de manière à appliquer une force ascendante contre une partie non maintenue de la tôle afin de procéder au cintrage du matériau en feuille autour de la ligne de pliage. La présente invention concerne également un procédé permettant d'utiliser l'ensemble d'outil pour cintrer des matériaux en feuille.
