Abstract Apparatus and process for cold-forming films The specification describes apparatus for the cold- forming of plastics films or sheet metal foils, particularly polypropylene films, without any previous heat treatment. The apparatus consists of a forming punch 1 with a central inner cavity 8 which is vented to atmosphere by a transverse passage 9, and a perforated die 4 having a hole adapted to receive the forming punch. A film 3 is secured to the perforated die 4 by a clamping member 2 and the forming punch 1 then enters the hole of the perforated die to produce a formed blank 6.
