ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Tooth brush having a handle and a bristle head with supports on which tufts of bristles are secured, the supports automatically coming into motion when the user, after applying the bristles against his teeth, gives the brush a reciprocating rectilinear movement, the supports being of a first and of a second type. The supports of the first types are mounted on the housing to allow oscillation of the tufts of bristles thereof in a plane which is perpendicular to the housing when the user applies the aforesaid reciprocating rectilinear movement. The supports of the second type, on the other hand, are mounted on the housing to allow rotation of their tufts of bristles about their axis of symmetry. A mechanical interconnecting mechanism joints the supports of the first and of the second type so that oscillation of the support of the first type causes reciprocation of the support of the second type.
