ABSTRACT On a bristle holder (5) of a toothbrush there lie at least the ends of the bristles, with bristles standing out about perpendic- ularly from the plane of the brush holder (5), appropriately also the bristle holes (7',8',15) respectively on arcs (11,13,16), in order thus to match the course of the marginal or interdental gingiva (see 7) and thus to prevent plaque which forms periodon- tal pockets. The bristle field (12) lies preferably approximately centrally on an axis defined by two diagonals (17) of the bristle holder (5), which diagonals (17) include between them an angle (alpha) of 75° - 105°.
