A mechanical toothbrush having a dual rotary brushing system, comprising a body (1) forming a handle, and a head (4) attached to said handle and provided with two adjacent counter-rotating cylindrical brushes (5, 5') with substantially parallel axes. Each of said brushes (5, 5') is driven by a flexible shaft (9, 9') located in the head (4) and supported at least at the distal end by a bearing (16) on a supporting member (10) enabling the brushes to be moved apart and resiliently bringing them back together.

La présente invention a pour objet une brosse à dents mécanique à double système rotatif de brossage comportant un corps (1) formant un manche et une tête (4) fixée sur ledit manche, laquelle tête étant pourvue de deux brosses (5, 5') contrarotatives de forme cylindrique, adjacentes et d'axes sensiblement parallèles; suivant l'invention, les deux dites brosses (5, 5') sont entraînées chacune par un arbre flexible (9, 9') situé dans la tête (4) et supportées au moins a leur extrémité distale par un palier (16) monté sur un support (10) permettant l'écartement des deux brosses l'une par rapport à l'autre et assurant alors le rapprochement de l'une vers l'autre par effet de rappel.
