A top drive apparatus for wellbore operations, the top drive apparatus comprising a rotor (270) and a stator (260) and seal assembly (250) for sealing therebetween characterised in that said sealing assembly (294) 5 comprises a platform (290) re mote from said stator (260) and a seal apparatus (294) arranged thereon, such that lubricant is flowable down from the seal apparatus (294). The lubruicant may be contaminated, the contaminants flowable down from the seal apparatus.
