The invention relates to a topical, foamable composition including at least one antifungal agent, said composition characterised in that said at least one antifungal agent is able to penetrate the upper layers of skin and is retained in or on an area to be treated for a prolonged period of time, and in that it has a residual non-volatile component content of less than 25 %. The invention furthermore relates to a method of treating fungal diseases including jock itch, tinea, dandruff and sebborheic dermatitis by applying to the affected area of a patient requiring such treatment the antifungal composition as claimed in any one of claims 1-29.

L'invention concerne une composition topique, expansible qui renferme au moins un agent antifongique. Ladite composition est caractérisée en ce qu'un au moins un agent antifongique peut pénétrer dans les couches supérieures de la peau et est retenu dans ou sur la région à traiter pendant un laps de temps prolongé et en ce qu'elle possède un taux de composant résiduel non volatil inférieur à 25 %. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé de traitement des maladies fongiques, y compris l'eczéma marginé de Hebra, la teigne, les pellicules et l'eczéma séborrhéïque. Ce procédé consiste à appliquer sur la région affectée d'un patient la composition antifongique comme revendiqué dans les revendications de 1 à 29.
