ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A transformer or inductor is made by wrapping a magnetic core material about a toroid-like structure made up of one or more electrical windings. A ferroresonant transformer may be constructed by including a slotted washer between primary and secondary windings. By shorting one of the windings, the ferroresonant transformer can be made into a gapped inductor with the gap totally enclosed within the core.
