ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A torque converter is disclosed, wherein a high rotational speed input engine can drive an output shaft at a relatively low speed but with a much greater torque. A vertical power shaft extends above and below a roof, radially extending and horizontally disposed power arms are secured to the shaft above the roof and are supported at their outer ends by the wheels riding on the roof. Each tire wheel is driven by an input engine mounted on the power arm. These arms can have, for instance, a length of 50' each. The portion of the power shaft extending below the roof is connected to a load through a suitable transmission. The engines mounted on the power arms rotate at a high speed, while the power shaft rotates at a very low speed, for instance at about 25 r.p.m.
