The equipment to be used for firefighting includes a totally encapsulated suit, consisting of a flexible fireproof costume (10) and a helmet (12) with transparent visor. A tank of liquefied breathing gas supplies a breathing circuit that emerges in the helmet. The breathing circuit is supplied by the tank through the primary circuit of a heat exchanger. A pneumatic motor is placed between the heat exchanger (28) and the breathing circuit and is connected to an air circulation fan (34) to provide closed circuit ventilation of the suit (10) via the exchanger (28).
