ABSTRACT The invention is a device, called a grabber, which is engageable with a moving rope so that the rope can pull an article attached to the grabber along with it. Typically the rope will be part of a rope tow and the article will be a sliding conveyance such as a sled, toboggan or an inflated inner tube. The grabber has a handle end and a working end with a rectangular slot in the working end opening to a bottom edge thereof. The grabber is connected to the conveyance by a short length of rope. The grabber is engaged with the moving rope via the slot and opposite corners of the slot bite into the rope to grab the rope and thus pull the conveyance with the rope, preferably from the bottom of a hill to the top thereof. Sliders will find their activity more enjoyable if they do not have to walk to the top of the hill dragging their conveyances along with them.
