ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a toy building block. The block has a first pair of side walls spaced apart in parallel relationship and a second pair of side walls spaced apart in parallel relationship and interconnecting the first pair of side walls to define a box-like construction. An open top of the construction provides a socket formation. The block also in- cludes a bottom wall, and a spigot formation on the outer sur- face of the bottom wall is dimensioned to fit into the socket formation. The box-like construction may be square in plan view and have four identical side walls and square spigot and socket formations, or it may be of elongate rectangular shape in plan view with the two long sides being twice the length of the two short sides, two square spigot and socket formations being provided on the block in side-by-side relationship.
