The toy construction elements include a rectangular fastener having a hinge which extends diagonally across the fastener and which divides the fastener into two triangular segments. A connector is associated with each segment. The other construction element is a polygonal body having an upper section and indented sections equal to the number of sides of the polygon. Each indented section is triangular and has an outer edge defined by one side of the polygon and a pair of inner edges which extend inward from the outer edge and intersect at their inner ends. Each indented section is provided with a connector which is complementary with the connector of the fastener such that each segment of the fastener may be fastened face-to-face with each indented section of the polygonal body.
