- 14 - "TRACK CHAIN ASSEMBLY WITH INTEGRAL PIN AND LINK" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A track chain construction wherein a pair of link chains are maintained in spaced parallel relationship by shoes secured to the respective links of the link chains. The shoes define central lugs for engagement by the drive sprocket in operating the track chain. Each link defines an integral unitary structure including a socket portion and a pin portion. The pin defines a reservoir for containing lubricating oil for lubricating the pivot joint defined by the pin received in the socket bore. a crescent seal defines a moving seal for cooperation with a fixed seal between an end cap and the socket end of the link for sealingly maintaining the oil against leakage from the pivot joint. A removable plug permits recharging the oil reservoir when desired. The seal includes an improved wear member adhesively bonded to the pin and defining the surface against which one leg of the seal movably engages. A structure is provided for limiting the axial movement of the pin relative to the socket.
