Abstract of the Disclosure In track pin-type tracks or connector-type tracks the bearing systems for the track plates (1-3; 13-15) that can pivot about track pins (6) have a relatively short service life compared to the remaining components of the track. It has been found that in addition to the loads caused by temperature, the type of loading caused by flexing of the track pins is of decisive importance. By fabricating the track pins (30,35,37,40,44,43,52,55,60) of carbon fibre reinforced plastic with a modulus of elasticity of approximately 460,000 N/nm2 flexing can be considerably reduced in comparison to track pins of steel. If the track pins are supported, for example, in rubber (5,63) or in metallic sleeves of bearing metal, this brings about an increased service life for the bearings because of an almost even distribution of the tensions and a significantly reduced level of tension. In addition, track pins of carbon fibre reinforced plastic result in a weight saving of approximately a factor of 5 in comparison to steel.
