A cable (31) or other track (31) is supported at points along its length by track support brackets (20) that define and shape the course of the track (31), providing corners, curves, and other direction changes. A track- traveling element (40) is provided that can travel along the track (31) unimpeded by the track supports (20). The track support (20) and the track- traveling elements (40) can pass by the track support brackets (20) without manipulation. The track support has an arcuate arm (23) having a center of curvature and an arm radius defining a circular segment. The track-traveling element (40) has a passageway surrounding the track, a pivoting axis, and a slot (43) communicating with the passageway. The slot (43) is spaced from the pivoting axis by a distance substantially equal to the arm radius of the track support (20). The pivoting axis and the arcuate arms (23) center of curvature are arranged to be coincident within a predetermined tolerance, so that the slot (43) passes the arcuate arm (23) despite pivoting of the track-traveling element (40) throughout a substantial range of angles about the pivoting axis. The system can be used for various purposes including carrying loads in a conveyor system, protection of a worker in a fall-arrest system, controlling an animal in an animal-tethering system, and supporting and guiding draperies.
L'invention concerne un câble (31) ou un rail (31) soutenu en plusieurs points sur sa longueur par des ferrures de support (20), lesquelles définissent le chemin du rail (31) et lui donnent sa forme, avec des angles, des courbes et autres changements de direction. L'invention concerne également un élément de déplacement sur rail (40) pouvant glisser le long du rail (31) sans que les ferrures de support (20) ne fassent obstacle. Le support de rail (20) et les éléments de déplacement sur rail (40) peuvent passer par les ferrures de support de rail (20) sans aucune manipulation. Le support de rail présente un bras courbé (23) dont le centre de courbure et le rayon définissent un segment circulaire. L'élément de déplacement sur rail (40) présente un passage autour du rail, un axe de pivotement et une fente (43) communiquant avec ledit passage. Cette fente (43) est espacée de l'axe de pivotement d'une distance sensiblement égale au rayon du bras du support (20) de rail. L'axe de pivotement et le centre de courbure du bras courbé (23) sont disposés de façon à coïncider avec une tolérance prédéterminée, de manière à permettre au bras courbé (23) de passer dans la fente (43) même lorsque l'élément de déplacement sur rail (40) pivote, dans une plage angulaire donnée, autour de l'axe de pivotement. Le système peut être utilisé à diverses fins, notamment pour transporter des charges dans un système de convoyeur, pour protéger un ouvrier dans un système antichute, pour empêcher un animal de partir, dans un système d'attache d'animaux, ou pour porter et guider des tentures.
