A traction device for any motor vehicle which is mounted over the tread surface of a tire and of which is capable of increasing traction when the drive wheels are trapped in snow or ice. The traction device comprises two structural body members whose one of the two is welded therein frame members secured thereupon flat part members, and which the second structural body member is also engaged therein frame members and secured therewith the first structural body member by means of a threaded bolt to be adjusted in the width direction of the tire, and of which a body member formed therewith each structural body member is arranged on each side of the tire for tightening and firmly gripping the rubber walls of the tires.
