ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure herein describes a traction device for a displaceable component, such as a safety belt used for protecting people in a vehicle; the device comprises a frame which can be attached to the fixed chassis of a vehicle, a movable element which can be attached to the displaceable component, drive means firmly connected to the movable element which ensures the displacement of the movable element; the drive means include a flexible tube which can be rolled up, a compressible fluid, means for pressurizing the fluid and a collision detector which can activate the pressurizing means; the tube is expandable under the action of the fluid being pressurized and is connected at no less than two different portions: on the one hand, to and being trained around an axle which is connected to the frame and, on the other hand, to the movable element.
