ABSTRACT A traction device for caravans or trailers which is manually operated and includes a ratchet interconnection between the ground engageable wheel or wheels and a lever arm that is used to provide both a drive and a steering of the ground engageable wheels. In the case of two wheels ground engaging both the drive coupling and the general support is such that the wheels are differentially drive- able and rotatable one with respect to the other.
