ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device comprising a load, suspended beneath a tractor and between its wheels to improve the traction of the wheels and the stability of the tractor. The load is generally in the form of a flat element which is elongated and has a width which is sub- stantially less than the spacing between the wheels and extends at least from the rear to beyond the front of the tractor for carrying conventional weights used to prevent the tractor from rearing or lifting. The load is suspended on the tractor by virtue of means comprising flaps, sliding shoulders integral with the tractor, sliding wing flanges and jacks. The jacks may be controlled by fluid distributors for respectively driving the loads longitudinally and transversely in a plane sub- stantially parallel to the ground.
