ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tractor transmission has an input shaft a PTO system transmission shaft disposed thereunder, a gear-type speed change mechanism coupled to the input shaft, and an oil reservoir. A gear in engagement with the gear in said gear-type speed change mechanism is rotatably disposed on said PTO system trans- mission shaft and blades are disposed on a boss of this first- mentioned gear. The blades are arranged to extend into the oil reservoir. Lubricating oil in the oil reservoir is utilized as resistance to the blades, thereby to stop the rotation of the gear-type speed change mechanism otherwise caused due to the force of inertia.
