An intelligent traffic safety cone or pylon (10) is placed in a traffic lane (42) of a roadway to mark the beginning or end of a roadway traffic obstruction. The pylon has a GPS sensor (20) disposed at the top of the body portion that rises from the pylon base (12). A battery (22) is situated within the pylon base providing stabilizing weight. A microprocessor circuit (26) within the pylon body is coupled to the GPS sensor (20) to acquire location data of the pylon (10) to within a resolution of one lane (42) of the roadway. A radio transmitter (28) within the pylon body coupled to the microprocessor (26) provides a radio signal modulated to provide the location data to a central traffic navigation facility (48). The pylon may have a folding antenna (30), and may have addional sensors (34) for traffic conditions and weather conditions.
L'invention concerne un code ou pylône de sécurité de trafic intelligent (10) qui est placé dans une voie de circulation (42) d'une route pour marquer le début ou la fin d'une obstruction du trafic routier. Le pylône comporte un capteur GPS (20) disposé au sommet de la partie de corps s'élevant de la base du pylône (12). Une batterie (22) est située à l'intérieur de la base du pylône mettant à disposition un point de stabilisation. Un émetteur radio (28) à l'intérieur du corps de pylône couplé au microprocesseur (26) fournit un signal radio modulé pour fournir les données d'emplacement à une installation de navigation de trafic centrale (48). Le pylône peut comporter une antenne de pliage (30), et peut comporter des capteurs supplémentaires (34) pour les conditions du trafic et les conditions météorologiques.
