A modified lightweight trailer is disclosed. The trailer provides a hollow tongue section having a peaked cross-section. Peaked section provides additional strength while permitting the tongue to be lightweight. A further advantage over flat tongues is realized in that grain, gravel or other particulated material does not sit on top of the top, but rather is deflected from the surface of the tongue.
