TRAILER TOP DOOR ACTUATING MECHANISM ABSTRACT A mechanism for opening and closing a pair of longitudinal top doors of a open top trailer, said doors rotatably attached along top edges of side walls, said doors opening and closing through rotation movement of substantially 270°, said mechanism generally instaled outside the cabside wall of the trailer, said mechanism comprising two mirror-image arrangements, one for each respective door, each said arrangement comprising a double-acting hydraulic cylinder, and an assembly of four rigid segments rotatably interconnected said assembly also connected to a hydraulic cylinder and to a respective door, said segment assembly having the function of transforming the linear stroke movement of the cylinder piston into a rotation movement of substantially 270° so as to exact the needs of the door assembly.
