Abstract: An undercarriage includes a primary frame and a plurality of secondary frames which in turn carry wheel members. The secondary frames are urged to pivot away from the primary frame by spring mechanisms. An undercarriage includes a primary frame and a plurality of secondary frames which in turn carry wheel members. Pivotal movement of the endmost secondary frames is controlled by spring/shock absorber assemblies. Pivotal movement of the center secon- dary frame is controlled by a spring/shock absorber/cylinder assembly. Spring/shock absorber/hydraulic cylinder assem- blies may be used to control the positioning of all of the wheels of an undercarriage.
