A device for varying the weight and balance of a sports racket, that easily attaches to and detaches from the string surface of a sports racket, to enhance performance in a racket sport by improving off-court training and warm-up exercises. The training device for racket sports increases a player's strength, flexibility and control, and simulates the impact of a ball or the like on a sports racket, allowing a player to practice various strokes. The device is secured to the string surface of a sports racket by drawing means engaging both parts of the device through any suitable aperture located between adjacent strings. In one embodiment, the device is comprised of two semi-spherical parts of compatible weight and design engaging through the string interface of a racket by means of a single screw-like fastener.
