Abstract of the Disclosure An induction heating apparatus for induction heating a strip metallic sheet material having a given width from one end to the other end of the material in the longitudinal direction while the material is transferred in the longitudinal direction, comprising a high frequency source, a high frequency coil coupled to the high frequency source and including at least one turn winding formed of two coil portions extending along the surface of the material in the lateral direction of the material to exceed the side edges of the material, a first magnetic flux concentrating member provided in the vicinity of one coil portion extending along the one coil portion to exceed the side edges of the material, and a second magnetic flux concentrating member provided in the vicinity of the other coil portion provided locally in the vicinity of the side edges of the material, whereby heating distribution is adapted to be made uniform throughout the width of the material.
