A transcoder architecture and method for transcoding in land mobile radio (LMR) systems are provided. The LMR system (20) includes a first communication site configured to communicate using a first LMR communication protocol and a second communication site configured to communicate using a second LMR communication protocol. The LMR system further includes a transcoder (28) configured to receive LMR content from the first communication site communicated using the first LMR communication protocol and digitally convert the LMR content to the second LMR communication protocol to be communicated to the second communication site.
L'invention concerne une architecture de transcodeur et un procédé pour transcoder dans des systèmes radio mobiles terrestres (LMR). Le système LMR (20) comprend un premier site de communication configuré pour communiquer à l'aide d'un premier protocole de communication LMR et un second site de communication configuré pour communiquer à l'aide d'un second protocole de communication LMR. Le système LMR comprend en outre un transcodeur (28) configuré pour recevoir un contenu LMR du premier site de communication communiqué à l'aide du premier protocole de communication LMR et convertir numériquement le contenu LMR en le second protocole de communication LMR à communiquer au second site de communication.
