A method is provided for treatment of a condition of an epithelium of a subject, the condition is for example inflammation, insect bite, allergic reaction burn, sun burn, eczema, edema, acne, dry skin, oily skin, malodor, abrasion, incision, and bruise, the method comprising applying proximate to the epithelium of the subject a device for cosmetic aromatherapy treatment of the subject, including an aromatherapeutic composition in a polymeric matrix, the device having a skin adhesive. In another embodiment a composition is provided for aromatherapy, comprising an essential oil in a polymeric matrix in a container with a suitable vehicle, such that upon delivery of the composition from the container and application to the skin of a subject, evaporative loss of the vehicle from the composition results in formation of a film.
L'invention concerne une méthode de traitement d'un état caractérisant l'épithélium d'un sujet, cet état étant, par exemple, une inflammation, une piqûre d'insecte, une brûlure de réaction allergique, un érythème solaire, un eczéma, un oedème, de l'acné, une peau sèche, une peau grasse, les mauvaises odeurs, une érosion, une incision, une ecchymose. Ladite méthode consiste à appliquer, à proximité de l'épithélium du sujet, un dispositif destiné au traitement aromathérapeutico-cosmétique du sujet, lequel dispositif comprend une composition aromathérapeutique renfermée dans une matrice polymère, et une composition adhésive destinée à être appliquée sur la peau. Selon un autre mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne une composition aromathérapeutique comprenant une huile essentielle formulée dans une matrice polymère contenue dans une enveloppe assortie d'un vecteur approprié, de manière qu'au moment où la composition est libérée de l'enveloppe puis appliquée sur la peau du sujet, la perte par évaporation du vecteur de la composition provoque la formation d'un film.
