A transdermal drug-containing dosage unit comprises: a backing layer substantially impervious to the drug to be delivered transdermally; a first polymeric adhesive matrix, in contact with the backing layer, having dispersed therein the drug and having a first delivery profile of the drug; a second polymeric adhesive matrix, in contact with said first polymeric adhesive matrix, having dispersed therein the drug and having a second delivery profile of the drug, wherein said second delivery profile is different from said first delivery profile; and a release liner in contact with the second polymeric adhesive matrix. The first polymeric adhesive matrix can release the drug more quickly or more slowly than the second polymeric adhesive matrix. Through the selection of the two matrices, the delivery profile of the drug through the skin can be selectively modified and controlled.
Linvention concerne une unité de dosage, contenant un médicament transdermique, qui comporte : une couche de support sensiblement imperméable au médicament devant être administré par voie transdermique; une première matrice adhésive polymère, en contact avec la couche de support, dans laquelle est dispersé le médicament et présentant un premier profil dadministration du médicament; une seconde matrice adhésive polymère, en contact avec ladite première matrice adhésive polymère, dans laquelle est dispersé le médicament et présentant un second profil dadministration du médicament, ledit second profil dadministration étant différent dudit premier profil dadministration, et une garniture de libération en contact avec la seconde matrice adhésive polymère. La première matrice adhésive polymère peut libérer le médicament plus rapidement ou plus lentement que la seconde matrice adhésive polymère. Par le biais de la sélection des deux matrices, le profil de libération du médicament à travers la peau peut être modifié et régulé de façon sélective.
