Disclosed is a transducer connector which overcomes limitations in the prior art by allowing significant reduction in connector size and weight. Key attributes of this invention are electrical contacts (34) incorporated onto a printed circuit board (31), a folding latch assembly (13), and the use of lightweight, rigid materials for fabrication. Additionally, the mating half of the connector may be mounted directly on a printed circuit board (40) implementing circuitry for a diagnostic ultrasound instrument, thus saving weight, volume, and complexity.

La présente invention concerne un connecteur de transducteur permettant d'éviter les limitations connues en autorisant une réduction importante de la taille et du poids du connecteur. Les attributs clés de cette invention sont des contacts électriques (34) incorporés sur une carte de circuit imprimé, un assemblage de verrouillage pliant (13), et l'utilisation de matériaux rigides et légers pour la fabrication. En outre, la moitié du boîtier de jonction du connecteur peut être montée directement sur une carte de circuit imprimé (40), comportant un circuit d'instrument de diagnostic à ultrason, ce qui permet des réductions de poids, de volume et de complexité.
