ABSTRACT A transferred plasma-arc torch for generating a plasma arc between a nozzle and an object to be heated. By using a thermionic emission -type cathode for an electrode, fixing a cathode spot, reducing an axial velocity of a plasma arc to such a degree that a magnetic instable condition is produced, and whirling or reversing or vibrating the plasma torch, an improved energy density, a greatly increased capacity, etc., are realized.
