ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is provided a device by which a patient may be easily and conveniently transferred between one support such as a bed and another support such as a transfer carriage using a transfer support such as a sheet from the patient's bed. The transfer device has an engaging member which pulls a rod about which the transfer sheet or other support is wound, passed or otherwise disposed.
