The invention relates to transgenic plants and plant cells comprising a reduced expression of invertase inhibitors. The modification of the expression of the invertase inhibitors is achieved by introducing a cDNA sequence in an antisense orientation with respect to a promoter. The expression of the antisense DNA sequence results either by regulating the CaMV35S promoter or tissue-specific promoters.

L'invention concerne des cellules végétales et des plantes transgéniques présentant une expression réduite des inhibiteurs d'invertase. La modification de l'expression des inhibiteurs d'invertase est obtenue par introduction d'une séquence d'ADNc à orientation antisens par rapport à un promoteur. L'expression de la séquence d'ADN antisens est réalisée par la régulation soit du promoteur CaMV35S soit des promoteurs spécifiques du tissu.
