Described are transgenic plants showing an increased accumulation of starch and/or an increased yield in starch-storing parts, organs or tissues due to a reduction of the endogenous adenylate kinase (ADK) activity in cells of the plant. Accordingly, such a reduction can be achieved by introducing a nucleic acid molecule, e.g. a nucleic acid molecule encoding a suitable antisense RNA, into the plant genome. Furthermore, recombinant nucleic acid molecules and methods for the production of such plants are described.
La présente invention concerne des végétaux transgéniques faisant preuve d'une accumulation accrue de l'amidon et/ou un rendement accru en parties, organes ou tissus stockant l'amidon par réduction de l'activité adénylate kinase (ADK) endogène dans les cellules du végétal. Il en découle que, pour obtenir une telle réduction, il suffit d'introduire dans le génome du végétal une molécule d'acide nucléique et notamment une molécule d'acide nucléique codant un ARN antisens approprié. L'invention concerne également des molécules d'acide nucléique de recombinaison et des procédés de production de tels végétaux.
