ABSTRACT A transistorized microwave oscillator comprises an oscillator circuit including a transistor and a feedback capacitor. The oscillator circuit generates a fundamental oscillating frequency and harmonic components. A cut- off waveguide is connected to the oscillator circuit for cutting off the funda- mental oscillating frequency and unwanted lower-order harmonics to provide a higher-order harmonic. According to the invention the feedback capacitor is utilized as the coupling circuit for extracting the desired harmonic from the oscillator circuit. Also, the feedback capacitor is concurrently used as an antenna. The nth harmonic of the fundamental frequency radiated from the antenna is extracted into another circuit through the cutoff waveguide. Since the waveguide and oscillator circuit are interconnected merely by the wave- guide, which has a width determining cutoff, the complexly structured fre- quency multiplier coupling antenna of the prior art is not necessary. Also, as the oscillator circuit can readily be incorporated with the waveguide by a solid piece of metal, the structure and manufacture are simplified.
