ABSTRACT TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION OF COMPONENT VIDEO SIGNALS A time multiplexed analog component video transmission system transmits a reference signal having a frequency of 2.25 MHz or an integer multiple thereof preferably 4.5 MHz. This choice simplifies a phase locked loop at the receiver, and since it is a multiple of the horizontal frequency for standard 525 line/60 Hz and 625 line/50 Hz systems, a constant line-to-line phase relationship between horizontal sync and the reference signal is obtained.
