A transmitter used in a mobile communication system employing a single-carrier system on the uplink comprises a multiplexing means for multiplexing a pilot channel, a control channel, and a data channel and a transmitting means for transmitting a transmission symbol including at least the pilot channel and the control channel on the uplink. A first pilot channel for measuring the uplink channel state with a receiver is transmitted in a frequency band over a plurality of resource blocks. A second pilot channel for compensating the channel transmitted on the uplink is transmitted by a resource block allocated to the station. The control channels of the local station and the other station are made to intersect at right angles each other in an FDM system.
